I’ll tell an inside information that not many know. One of the main characters, Amani was named after the Egyptian queen Amanirenes. This was one of many trade secrets hints I would make available in my story to relate back to my routes and ancestry in Africa. Even certain characters they were inspired by certain characteristics of people I find to be great like the Haitian Revolution in 1804. The tenacity and innovation, the resilience that was showed by my extended family across the sea was simply inspiring. These are some of the factors that inspired my growth and characters as a writer.
